Primary

"Our aim is not merely to make the child understand, and still
less to force him to memorize, but so to touch his imagination
as to enthuse him to his innermost core."

-Maria Montessori

Ms. Ana- Head Guide

Hello CM families! I am Ana Celedon, and I am so happy to be a part of the CM family. I was born and raised in Miami, Florida and have been in Colorado since November 2015, which is just about the time I began my Montessori journey here at CM. I hold a degree in Early Childhood Education, Infant/Toddler Montessori certificate, and a Primary Montessori certificate. The toddler age is my favorite, but I am fascinated by everything the Primary environment has to offer children grow and learn.

I live with my family, complete with my mom, grandma, three dogs, and two cats! On the weekends you will catch me spending time with them! I love to travel and learn about new cultures. I can't wait to continue my journey in Primary and be able to share it with you and your children.

Ms. Jun- Assistant

My name is Jun. I immigrated to the States from China in 1995. I have been married for more than 25 years to my husband. I have a daughter, Connie, who graduated from the University of Minnesota and a son, Kevin, who is also in college! I have worked at this school since 2006. In the beginning, I worked only two to three days a week as a floater because our kids were so young. In 2012, I started working with Ms. Laura as her assistant for three years and have been in the Primary 1 community since then. Through these years, I have learned a lot from each Head Guide and from participating in lots of workshops. I love the Montessori method, and I love every single child.

Ms. Kabita- Assistant

Hi! My name is Kabita Gyawali. I have been working at Centennial Montessori since April of 2008. I used to prepare food for the children as the kitchen manager, but I am now an assistant in the classroom. I was born and raised in Nepal and attended college at Tribhuvan University for my Bachelors in Economics. I worked for the government of Nepal in the Agriculture Development Office as a junior technician for almost 13 years before moving to the US in 2006. I am married and have two wonderful children. I work at Centennial Montessori because I love children and love providing them the help they need as they grow at such an important time of their lives.

Ms. Haley- Assistant

Hi my name is Haley Hurlburt. I started my first two years at Centennial Montessori as an Assistant in the Toddler community and am so overjoyed to follow some of my kiddos and to join the Primary community! I have over eight years of experience working with children from birth to six years old. Prior to CM, I was an Assistant Director at a private preschool in the Highlands neighborhood of Denver, a Preschool and Prekindergarten teacher at a charter school in Green Valley Ranch, and I also worked at two ECE programs in Durango, CO. I hold a Director’s Certification as well as an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education. I plan to one day work within conservation of our beautiful national and state parks. On the weekends, I also work at a church in the nursery and babysit frequently. When I am not spending time with kiddos, I enjoy being outdoors, preferably in the mountains, with my dog Charlie, as well as attending all sorts of live music events. It is wonderful to be here at CM and within the Montessori world where there is such an emphasis on nature and the environment. I look forward to meeting all of you and creating new memories within the Primary community!

Ms. Natalie- Head Guide

I have been working as a lead Montessori teacher for almost a decade now and have a degree in Early Childhood Education as well as obtained my Early Childhood credential through Santa Monica Montessori Institute. I absolutely love spending my days watching children discover life and all of its wonders! I took a small break from teaching when I moved from Chicago to Colorado so that I could fully immerse myself in all this colorful state has to offer. On any given weekend, you can find me in the mountains or on a lake! I have a yoga background and was so proud of the afterschool yoga classes for intercity schools I rolled out in Chicago. I love to incorporate body awareness and breathing techniques into my daily lessons as well as being a big advocate of health through food!  I am so excited to be back in the classroom and a part of this beautiful family here at Centennial Montessori and look forward to meeting all of you!

Ms. Mai-Assistant

My name is Mai Her. I'm originally from California but fell in love with the beauty of Colorado's mountains! In 2016, I obtained my Bachelor degree in Psychology at Chico State University in California. I have experience working with special needs children, supporting them with social skills and academic skills. In addition, I have worked as an assistant coordinator and as an assistant director of before and after school programs with primary kids. Besides working with children, I have also worked with low-income first generation students, providing them with academic advising as well as college resources. No matter where my career path takes me, I always seem to end up where it makes me the happiest, surrounded by little ones. I believe that every child has great ideas and potentials, and we as adults are there to only help them put it into action. "Help me to do it myself."

Ms. Jerrie- Assistant

Hello! My name is Jerrie! I was born in Dover, Delaware, but I’ve lived in a lot of different places. I finally settled in Colorado about 13 years ago, and now I live in Aurora with my one year-old son and our two cats. I’ve spent about three years working with kindergartners as well as an aftercare program with children aged five to ten years old. I’ve always had a passion for working with kids, and I love watching them learn and grow! I’m very excited to learn more about the Montessori way of caring for children, especially now that I have one of my own. I hope to learn lots of new things and implement some Montessori learning into my own home. If I’m not busy being a mom or doing schoolwork, I love to crochet or read whenever I get a free moment! I also really enjoy watching hockey, or hiking with my son, and I’m currently working on writing a novel.

Ms. Caroline-Head Guide

Hi, my name is Caroline Alsmeyer and I recently moved back to Colorado from Arizona. I am thrilled to be back working at CM with all of the wonderful children, staff, and families! I have been a Primary Lead Guide since 2013 and also have my Early Childhood Education Director’s Certification. As a Lead Guide, I strive to instill an early love of learning by honoring, following, and expanding on each child’s personal interests
and helping to guide them on their individual paths of development.
I was born and raised in the Washington D.C. area before I began my adventures across the country. I received my undergraduate degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Central Florida and then moved out to CO to begin my Montessori journey. My interests outside of teaching include: music, the outdoors, yoga, traveling, and spending time with family and friends!

Fun Facts: My parents and I are from Colorado, and I have lived in the Denver area for the last six years. I have also lived in California, South Australia, and Namibia. I moved to beautiful Roxborough Park last summer. I love baking, reading, traveling, camping and hiking with my partner James and dog, Roxy.

Teaching has always been my first love. I have more than ten years of teaching experience and completed my Master’s in Early Childhood Special Education in December 2017.

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with you and your child in this year's learning adventures. My priorities are helping your child meet his learning goals and helping your child to enjoy the learning experience. Every child deserves to meet her learning potential and to love learning.

Ms. LeAnne- Assistant

Hello parents! My name is LeAnne Price. I have worked in several child care facilities and have had a lot of experience working with children of all ages. Right now, I am working towards getting my degree in Elementary Education. I have been wanting to become an elementary school teacher ever since I was 7 years old. People usually tell me how lucky I am to have known what I wanted to do for so long, but I always tell them that I am not lucky, I'm blessed. Everything that I am has everything to do with God. He has made me into the person that I am today, and He has given me such a desire and passion for teaching, and I just can't wait to get started!

Now a little more about me! I was born and raised in Colorado, I have 2 sisters, and I am the middle child. We are all very close and love to hangout with each other! In my free time, I love to catch up on my shows, write in my journal, clean/organize my room, play animal crossing or do some online shopping! I also love trying new recipes and making meals for my family! Cooking and eating are definitely hobbies of mine!

Thank you for giving me this opportunity to watch over and grow with your little ones! I look forward to meeting all of you!
