Ms. Mackenzie- Head Guide

Hello! My name is Mackenzie Kevwitch! I have lived in Denver my entire life, and I love it here.  In my free time, I love spending time with my friends and all of my many pets. I have wanted to be a teacher ever since I can remember, and I love the relationships that you get to build with each child. I hope to get my Primary Montessori training completed in the near future and cannot wait to continue learning from the children each day. I love it here at Centennial Montessori, and I am excited to continue my journey here!

Ms. Christie- Assistant

I am very excited for my first year assistant teaching at Centennial Montessori. After earning my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, I moved to Colorado to be near family and discovered my passion for working with children. I have been working with children in various settings for the past 3 years and was provided the opportunity to obtain my Child Development Associate at a previous center.

I grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona and enjoy experiencing new places. I attended the University of Oregon in Eugene and fell in love with being outside and appreciating nature. I enjoy practicing yoga, reading, hiking, and learning new things.

I hope to encourage your child to grow in his or her unique way. I hope to help guide your child in this important stage of their development.

Ms. Alma- Toddler 2 Assistant

My name is Alma. I came to Denver 21 years ago with my family from Europe. I have 2 daughters and a stepson. My oldest daughter Sejla has given me three beautiful grandchildren, Phillip, Arianna, and Aubrey. My youngest daughter is Lejla. My stepson, Edvin, has served 7 years in the US Army. I also have a dog, a miniature pincher mix, named Lefty. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and being outdoors. I like going for walks with my family, swimming, and sightseeing. I love discovering new places that have breathtaking nature views. Our family loves to eat, so cooking is always popular in our household. We always look for new places to eat as well as new recipes to try. I am certified in Early Childhood Education and I have taken classes at Denver and Aurora Community Colleges. I have been teaching for the past 20 years. Being able to help expand these young minds excites me as a teacher in continuing this amazing career.

I graduated high school at the Singapore American School and did an Emergency Medical Technician program at Arapahoe Community College. My hobbies are skiing and hiking. I love working with kids because I get to see what the world looks like through a child’s eye and see their fascination with the world around them. I look forward to getting to know each of you!

Ms. Laura- Head Guide

Hello. My name is Laura Cruz. I am from Mexico City, and Denver has been my home since 2000. I started working with children at the YMCA. Previously, I have worked at a local childcare center where I worked with ages 2 to 3 years old. I joined CM in 2017 and have worked as a Toddler Assistant in all three communities and now a Head Guide in Toddler 3. I am certified in Early Childhood from ACC and am currently working towards my Infant/Toddler Montessori credential.
In my free time, I enjoy arts and crafts, cooking and spending time with my family. I feel our responsibility as teachers is to provide children with the best possible education, knowledge and choices so they are able to grow into their maximum potential.
